Neil Cycle mechanic, events and trainee mentor
I have volunteered at R-evolution for over 10 years. I do it because I like to give back to society. I love having face to face contact with the public, educating and enabling them to cycle.
Gary Cycle mechanic and training support
I volunteer for the satisfaction of helping others grow and gain confidence. Supporting skill development, repairing bikes, and working with a supportive team feels meaningful. The varied challenges help me develop as a mechanic while giving back.
Christopher Cycle mechanic
I joined R-evolution a couple of years ago and enjoy the details involved in a bike. Trying to work out the issue is like a great puzzle to me.
Patrick Cycle mechanic at Hull University
I've been volunteering at the University Bike Hub since 2023. During that time I have learned a lot about the maintenance of bicycles, met a wide range of people and helped them fix their bike issues. It has definitely been a positive experience.
Nigel Bike collections and van driver
I love driving for R-evolution collecting donations and delivering refurbished bikes to their hub network. Great cause, great people and great fun.
Ben Cycle Mechanic
Bikes are my passion. I am always happy to help!
Malcolm Cycle Mechanic
I joined R-evolution because I am a keen cyclist and wanted to utilise my skills to help a charity that focuses on getting people on bikes and out of cars.
Ken Cycle Mechanic
I have loved being able to learn new skills while bringing bikes back to life and saving them from landfill. It's helping the environment whilst also helping my community.

Volunteering has given me the opportunity to meet new people and increase my skill set. Along with working outside and feeling the benefits of increased exercise, giving back to our local community and investing my time in our projects at Holderness House have been very rewarding.
