Partnership with Love Button Global Moment

A quite corner of Holderness House has been given a new lease of life thanks to a special volunteering effort during Coldplay's recent visit to Hull.

Over two days, the band's charity, Love Button Global Movement, partnered with Hull CVs, Holderness House and R-evolution to deliver a project that combined hard work, community spirit and celebration of local volunteers.

A forgotten space brought back to life

On the first day, volunteers guided by R-evolution set to work on an overgrown, unused part of the Holderness House gardens. By the afternoon, the space had been transformed into nature area, complete with features designed to attract wildlife and provide calm environment for local groups to enjoy.

What had once been disused land is now a resource for the community -a place to connect with naturek suport wellbeing, and host activities for local organisations.

Celebrating the power of volnteering

The second day shifted from digging and planting to tea conversation. More than 20 local charities brought along their volunteers for an afternoon tea in the gardens. Over cups of teaand plenty of cakes, stories were shared, friendships renewed and new connections made.

It was a chance to highlight the importance of volunteering across Hull and to thank those who give their time to make a difference in the city.

Working together for impact

The event also showcased the role that collaboration can play in creating lasting impact bringing together international charities, local organisations and community volunteers project left behing more than just a new nature space. It demonstrated what is possible when people work together

Looking Ahead

Holderness House now has a new area for community groups to use, and the charities involved have stronger connections to one another. For those who attended, it was a reminder of the positive change that volunteering can bring, both to places and to people.
