About Us
Who are we?
R-evolution is a charity led by people who are endlessly enthusiastic about learning. We think that everyone deserves the opportunity to learn, to feel confident in their abilities, and to be a part of a community. We also understand that not everyone is afforded that opportunity.
We think that should change.
Learning is valuable. It opens doors, increases employability, and boosts self-esteem. But it can also be hard to come by. Our aim as a charity is to make this learning experience accessible for those whom it would most benefit.

.. and what do we do?
We work with people from all backgrounds; offenders, ex-offenders, people struggling with their mental health, other people who are finding it hard to attract work, and those who just need a helping hand. No matter their background - with us, they are all Trainees.
The premise is simple. We recruit Trainees, and provide full-package, accredited training courses. We encourage the Trainees’ own development of soft skills; unlock future potential - and their ability to instigate it - and support everything with regular one-to-one life coaching; working towards a framework by which Trainees can get back on their feet.
We currently run two main projects - The Bike Project, and The Horticulture Project.

What else?
We know that sometimes it takes more. Which is why our training programmes are each built around local skills gap areas – giving our Trainees a fair chance, and the confidence to know that their expertise is needed. And – because we know it takes a village - each project promotes community inclusion, showing Trainees the very real, tangible impact of ‘giving back.’
Of course, we ourselves are not immune to the learning bug. We’re as open to new ideas and new ways of working as we expect our Trainees to be, which is why we run Trainee steering groups – allowing Trainee to become Teacher, and training to become stronger; because everyone deserves a voice, and when it comes to learning - we’re all ears!

Neil's Story.Neil's story explains how being a part of our training programme changed his life for the better. In fact, he liked it so much - he still volunteers for us today. You can usually find him on site, at events, or out in the van collecting vital donations, and he is almost always finding a new way to make us laugh.

Recognition.
R-evolution are proud to have received the High Sheriff's Award in 2019, for our work with Bike Libraries across the Humber region. In the same year, we also received an award from Welcome To Yorkshire, again in recognition of our continued commitment to the Bike Libraries, and to celebrate the implementation of over 20 Bike Libraries in the year.
We are also lucky enough to have been the recipient of two national awards from Modeshift, including the Best Sustainable Travel Initiative. This was given in recognition of our work developing the Bike Library programme across the region; in partnership with East Riding of Yorkshire Council's Road Safety Team.
Our second Modeshift award came in recognition of our work providing bikes, safety accessories, and training to refugees - many of whom had never ridden a bike before.
