![]() R-evolution's Cycle Academy has been set up for young people aged between 15-19 years old. In partnership with Welcome to Yorkshire, East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Sport England, the Cycling Academy provides young people with an opportunity to be a part of a high profile cycle team and develop soft skills to turn themselves into better all round cyclists. The riders will be involved in events around the Tour de Yorkshire, UCI World Championships, they will take part in local Sportives and receive a wide variety of cycling related training. We held the first R-evolution Cycling Academy session at Ennerdale Cycle Track in Hull today. The session was led by Mark Grange (Head Coach) and supported by the following members of staff: Andy Cawley (Expert Rider), Ben Petterson (Support Rider), Tim Pattle (Team Manager), John Marshall (CEO) & Oliver Rawnsley (Head Mechanic). 10 young people aged between 15 and 19 took part in the session. They were from HETA, Beverley Grammar and Beverley High School. They were given the opportunity to have a coached session on road bikes on the closed circuit at Ennerdale Cycle Track. After this session we are already beginning to see some great personalities and the blog will be written by our riders themselves to share their experiences of the R-evolution Cycle Academy.
